Your Claude Problem...

Chat GPT has been on the scene for almost four, full years and now Claude, Perplexity and all the other AI "thought partner" tools have started to peak throughout 2026.

I’ve heard plenty of designers complaining on and offline recently that their clients are using it to visualize and then to try and change the designs the’ve agreed to. As you know, AI is no designer.

I get it.

In the word of brand marketing, designers are using AI to write crap copy that can’t define their brand soul and that turns the simplest of stories into word salad.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not a luddite.

Claude has definitely been an asset in helping me to execute on some of the technical aspects of my business. It gets stuff done that I don’t want to do, fast. That’s the appeal of AI isn’t it? You have something else working on your to-do list for a minimal investment.

Because here’s the thing, AI can give you lots and lots of ideas but if you're still not in motion, it's because you haven't truly processed them. As logical as you think it’s being, AI is not a visionary. It is an expert at in past-pattern recognition and if you’re on the cusp of transformation, it will simply offer guidance based on what’s you’ve done before.

The projects that almost fit…

The clients who almost get it…

The projects can’t find magazine placements…

The pipeline that used to work without effort, until it didn’t…

Those are things that Claude can offer suggestions for, but can’t permanently fix. Why?

Because AI still gets things wrong. AI doesn’t know how to do the emotional lifting that will get you to your next level. AI can’t see your blindspots. AI doesn’t know how to do the interior planning that real growth requires.

Even if you think Claude “knows” you, Claude doesn’t know how you feel about where you're going. That means, instead of going forward, you may find yourself off course: often.

Claude can’t see or feel what a room needs to transform and the same goes for your Studio. What if what you’ve built so far, the work you’ve done and the value of your brand came with signals for growth? Because they do if you know the right questions to ask and how to listen.

Creating momentum mid-career requires 3 important shifts. I’ll be talking about them during a Founders Roundtable and Training on September 10th and September 15th.

If you’re truly committed to your next level, I'd love to see you in the room.

The only way to the other side is through. I take that back. You can jump over the problem, pivot around it, ignore it entirely and for a while that works. You get busy enough that you don't have to look at it. You land a good project and it falls back. You hire someone and it shifts just enough to feel manageable. But it comes back. It always comes back. Because it isn't the problem that’s the problem. It’s a pattern that you’ve you built, one reasonable workaround at a time. What you’re...

The more years you’ve been in business Reader, the more years that pivoting, patching and the unplanned workarounds forced by growth have left your Studio’s systems in need of a reno. What bears the load is obvious—you. But you’ve been at this long enough to know that if you pull the one, or two things, that aren’t working apart, you risk everything else crumbling around them. Because it’s what you can’t see, the foundation underneath, that your gut is telling you, needs to change. Now that...
